As a devolved nation, there is a unique opportunity in Wales to experiment and test new ideas for social good, finding places where devolution allows us to go further and faster in achieving our aims.
The Nesta Cymru team partners with government, public sector organisations, industry and academia to fund programmes, produce research and design and test new ideas in our mission areas – a sustainable future, a fairer start and a healthy life.
From 2015-2021 we partnered with Cardiff University to develop and incubate Y Lab, the public services innovation lab for Wales. We supported 15 public services organisations to test and implement new ideas with Innovate to Save, a partnership with Welsh Government. We have two ongoing programmes with Y Lab; Health, Arts, Research, People (HARP) and Infuse.
We made Arloesiadur with the Welsh Government which maps innovation in Wales.
We supported five arts organisations in Wales to develop digital projects through the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts.
We worked with public services organisations by creating the Digital Innovators Network.
