Senior Policy Advisor (Education), Rapid Insights Team
Tom joins Nesta as a senior policy advisor for the Rapid Insights Team.
Before Nesta, Tom worked as Head of Policy at The Difference, working to improve the life outcomes of pupils with vulnerabilities by supporting schools to become more inclusive.
Prior to this, Tom was a founding member and assistant headteacher of a school in west London and after leaving became an education policy advisor at The Royal Academy of Engineering.
Tom studied aeronautical engineering at Bristol University and after graduating worked for QinetiQ a fast jet simulation systems engineer. While at university Tom learned to fly in the RAF volunteer reserve but ultimately chose not to pursue a career in the forces, opting instead to become an engineer and then a teacher.
Outside of work, Tom is a keen cyclist and avid reader/listener of non-fiction books and podcasts.
