What I do

Theo is a Senior Programme Manager in the Innovation Skills team, responsible for the design and delivery of learning products and initiatives for the international development sector.

Theo led on the production of the DIY toolkit, a social innovation toolkit designed to help people working in development to adopt and adapt ideas. He previously worked in Nesta's Innovation Lab as a Programme Manager for the Innovation in Giving Fund.
Before joining Nesta, Theo worked for Zamyn - a cultural communications agency - as corporate development manager and producer for the 2013 Cultural Forum at Tate Modern. He has also worked for BT Global Services as an account manager for Thomson Rueters and in the CSR team managing a 3 year partnership with Unicef.
Theo has an undergraduate degree in International Development with Politics, and a Masters in Sustainable Business from the University of Leeds.
Earlier this month the DIY Toolkit celebrated its first birthday. To mark the occasion we reflect on the impact that the toolkit has had so far, and look forward to the next phase of the initiative.

Human-centred design is based on the use of techniques which communicate, interact, and empathise with the people involved, stimulating them and obtaining an understanding of their needs, desires and experiences.
