She/Her
Dr Cath Sleeman was the Head of Data Science.
Cath led a team that uses data science to deliver new insights and tools for Nesta’s three missions. She was also growing the use of data science within the Behavioural Insights Team.
Much of Cath’s work was focused on funding and leading research that showed how data science could improve our understanding of the UK's labour market. She devised and led the development of Nesta’s Open Jobs Observatory and Green Jobs Explorer. She also had a keen interest in interactive data visualisation and won awards from the Bank of England and Information is Beautiful.
Before Nesta, Cath completed a PhD in Applied Microeconometrics at Cambridge University, as a Gates Scholar. She has previously worked as an economist at Morgan Stanley and as a senior economic analyst at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
