Emily is deputy CEO for Nesta and the Behavioural Insights Team, translating our strategic vision into actionable plans by prioritising operational effectiveness, efficiency and impact.

She helps to safeguard the group's financial future, ensuring that Nesta has the necessary funds to deliver their ambitious mission goals.

Before joining the Nesta group as group chief financial officer, Emily was the chief financial officer and chief operating officer at GuarantCo, a publicly funded organisation aiming to alleviate poverty by supporting the financing of infrastructure projects in Africa and Asia.

Before this, she was the academic finance director for University College London. She has also previously led the finance team of a medical research charity and performed green energy investing at an FTSE100 business. Emily trained as a chartered accountant with PwC, having graduated from Exeter University with a BSc in Psychology.
