Yvonne Farquharson

What I do

Yvonne is the Managing Director of Breathe Arts Health Research.


She has over 10 years’ experience working in the creative industries and seven years' specialist experience, designing and delivering innovative arts and health projects within the NHS and community settings.  

Prior to setting up Breathe, Yvonne worked as Performing Arts Manager at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity (GSTC), the largest NHS Charity in the UK, and in a variety of roles for the BBC and ITV. Yvonne studied Theatre Studies, specialising in theatre in psychiatric units and prisons.

Yvonne has gained both national and international recognition for her work in the arts and health sector and has personally received two award nominations for making an outstanding contribution to healthcare across Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.  

Under Yvonne’s management, Breathe Arts Health Research was selected by The Observer and Nesta as one of the UK’s 50 New Radicals - innovative companies changing Britain for the better. Most recently, Breathe was awarded the inaugural “Innovation in Lambeth” prize from the borough’s NHS Clinical Commissioning Group.
