Codrina Cretu

Codrina is mission manager for the sustainable future mission.

Codrina joined Nesta in 2018, supporting digital social innovation and tech for good across Europe, through a programme of research, policy advocacy and events as part of DSI4EU.

In 2019, she joined the Upstream Collaborative team, working with local authorities to understand how moving attention and resources upstream of service delivery can help create the conditions that enable citizens to thrive. In 2020, she led the research into how local authorities responded to the pandemic and the implications of COVID-19 on their ways of working.

She holds an MSc in Environmental Change and International Development and a BA in Politics from the University of Sheffield. Prior to joining Nesta, she worked for a small digital-health social enterprise, supporting the rollout of patient-centred and transparent approaches to health and social care across the UK.

In her spare time, Codrina loves camping and going on long hikes, with her longest one being the Mardi Himal, a 4-day trek through the Anapurna region of the Himalayas. She is passionate about sustainability, reducing food waste and is always working to maximise the amount of food she can grow in her London garden.
