Sean Croghan

Chief Operating Officer

Sean leads the organisation’s technology teams and provides both the strategic leadership and operational management to ensure that digital technologies contribute to Nesta’s mission.

Sean began his career in IT as a 1st line support engineer at a global insurance provider over 20 years ago. In the following two decades, he gained extensive experience in Information Technology, service delivery, systems integration, and operational management. Sean has provided IT expertise and leadership for multinational corporations, governmental agencies, startups, and most recently non-profit organisations.

Before moving to the UK in 2014, Sean helped a startup IT consultancy grow into one of Central New York’s leading IT Managed Service Providers. Prior to that, Sean specialised in engineering and administering secure communications for both Bank of America and as a civilian contractor for the US Navy.

Outside of Nesta, Sean is a struggling golfer, Tex-Mex aficionado, and has an interest in all things related to space. He is an amateur astronomer, former member of the Houston Astronomical Society, and once drove 12 hours through the night to see the final launch of the Space Shuttle in person.
