Katharine joins Nesta as a resident with experience in product development and innovation management for the healthy life team.

Katharine has 18 years’ experience working in food product development and trends and innovation primarily within 3 major retailers, Asda, Morrisons and Co-op. As a product developer she was responsible for determining and developing ranges linked to customer needs in those specific categories alongside ensuring they met high quality and policy standards.

Prior to Nesta, Katharine was Head of Innovation at Co-op Food where she was responsible for looking at global, social and food trends that may affect what customers would need and want from 1 – 10 years and beyond. This would support building business strategies and areas of focus, whether this be to investigate the need for a more bio-diverse diet for food security or the way in which customers want to shop or the health trends vs health needs all the way to the latest cuisine trends.

She has recently set up a food and innovation consultancy that focuses on work from ideation and food trends, and interim product development, to research & feasibility studies.
