Paul is Managing Director of Objective Productions.
He previously worked for Picture Music International, the video arm of EMI Records, in the late 1980s, before switching to television in 1990.
He joined Objective Productions in 2005. Over the subsequent two and a half years, he helped Objective double turnover and increase profit six-fold. The company became one of the 20 largest independent Production Companies in the UK and made The Sunday Times Fast Track List for 2006.
Objective was sold to All3 Media in 2007 and Paul has continued to run it as a stand-alone company within the group. Since his arrival, turnover has increased sevenfold and the company has won numerous awards, including four BAFTAs, four RTS Awards, two Olivier Theatre Awards, a Rose D’Or and five British Comedy Awards.
ClearStory is an independent television company, known for its documentaries portraying powerful human stories and for authored series tackling big ideas in history and science.
ClearStory was set up in 2010 by Russell Barnes and Molly Milton. Russell Barnes has been making award-winning documentaries for fifteen years, often in partnership with intellectual heavyweights such as Niall Ferguson, Richard Dawkins and David Reynolds.
His credits include the Grierson-nominated history films Armistice, 1941, The Man of Steel and the BAFTA and Emmy award winner The Virtual Revolution for BBC2. Russell also directed Channel 4’s The Genius of Charles Darwin (winner of the Broadcast Award – best documentary series 2009), the CGI-driven global hit Extinct and the revisionist history series Empire.
Molly Milton has a strong track record of making landmark science, history and technology series. Previous credits include The Virtual Revolution, Faith Schools Menace? (with Richard Dawkins), Simon Schaffer’s Light Fantastic for BBC2 and Download, presented by award-winning journalist and author John Heilemann for Discovery.
In 2009, she won the contract to create, direct and produce Animal Planet (Discovery Channel International) worldwide idents, which are still being broadcast today.
