Before forming Ingenious in 1998, Patrick was Chairman and Chief Executive of The Really Useful Group and, prior to that, a Partner at Deloitte. He is chairman of a number of companies in the media sector, including Hat Trick Productions, and chairs the Young Vic Theatre Company, the National Film and Television School (NFTS) and St John’s, Smith Square. Patrick is also Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Creative & Cultural Entrepreneurship (ICCE) at Goldsmiths in the University of London and a member of the Creative Industries Council (CIC). Patrick is Nesta's mentoring champion.

Matchlight's co-founder (along with Jacqui Hayden and David Smith) and Creative Director, Ross Wilson, is a multiple award-winning documentary maker. His CV includes production credits as executive producer and producer/director for major British documentary strands including BBC's One Life, ITV’s Network First and Real Lives and Channel 4's Cutting Edge, Dispatches, Equinox and Secret History series. Ross has won a raft of awards including BAFTAs and an International Emmy, which he won for his first film with Stephen Fry, The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive.
Matchlight's Managing Director, David was formerly Head of Legal & Business Affairs for IWC Media, part of RDF Media. As Head of Business Affairs for Wark Clements & Company he advised on its merger with Ideal World to form IWC Media. He then advised the IWC board during its acquisition by RDF Media plc and remained with IWC as part of the indie's managing executive team before forming Matchlight with Ross Wilson and Jacqui Hayden.
Matchlight produces television programmes – documentaries, arts, factual entertainment, history, current affairs and daytime - for BBC One, Two, Three and Four as well as Channel 4, Channel 5 and ITV. Since its formation in 2009, Matchlight has produced over 50 hours of television, quickly growing to become one of the UK’s leading regional producers of intelligent and accessible factual television.
