At a Dojo, young people between 7 and 17 learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and much more. In addition to learning to code, members meet like-minded people and show off what they’ve been working on.
CoderDojo Scotland applied to the Digital Makers Fund and received an award in May 2013 to expand to nine locations across Scotland. The Scottish government is now backing the scheme through Skills Development Scotland (SDS).
The team is collaborating with Open Glasgow, an open data forum for citizens, by running “Future Makers” workshops targeted at a new audience of young people to make and use wearable technologies.
