On Tuesday, 9 September 2014, Nesta will launch its first-ever digital magazine, The Long + Short, with pop-up coffee shops in central London.

The new, free magazine will take a provocative look at innovation, new ideas, and how the world is changing.

Pop-up coffee shops in two London locations will serve FREE ‘long’ lattes and ‘short’ espressos in return for downloading the app or signing up to receive an email which links to the website - putting a new twist on the coffee house as a centre for the exchange of ideas.

The first season of The Long + Short, the Re Season, looks at how traditional ideas can be reworked and put to good use – anything from used car tyres to trams. Thirsty Londoners will be invited to answer the question ‘what

would you bring back’?

  • The first location will be Broadgate Exchange Square, 7am-10am.
  • The second location is Euston Square Gardens, 11.30am-2.30pm.

The Long + Short Editor Larry Ryan says, "The coffee shops offer a nod to the coffee house tradition of brain food and pithy conversation – something we hope the magazine will stimulate!"
