What I do

Teo is a researcher for the Innovation Growth Lab (IGL), Nesta’s global collaboration aiming to promote, undertake and disseminate randomised controlled trials (RCTs) on innovation policy.

He specialises on the technical aspects of RCTs, including their design, implementation and analysis. His work also focuses more generally on government support for innovation, entrepreneurship and business, with an emphasis on policy evaluation.

Biography

Teo has an MSc in Economics and Public Policy and a BA in Social Sciences (Summa Cum Laude) from Sciences Po Paris. He previously had stints researching education policy at the OECD as well as urban development in Cairo, Egypt. He currently struggles to locate his belongings, spread out across three different continents.

Policymakers working on innovation and business growth have a double challenge: how to promote disruptive innovation while ensuring growth is inclusive. At IGL2017, we will be discussing cutting edge ideas and approaches for those interested in innovation, entrepreneurship and business growth policy.

Last December we co-hosted our winter Research Meeting at Harvard Business School, together with Professors Karim Lakhani and Rembrand Koning. Over 50 researchers were welcomed for a day packed with eight presentations of early-stage, ongoing and completed randomised controlled trials (RCTs).

Last summer we set out to answer this question, and to try and tease out which barrier is the most important. In this blog we present the results from our survey.
