What I do

Rachael is the Assistant Programme Manager for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy. Rachael currently manages the Digital Arts and Culture Accelerator and supports the wider team's initiatives such as Arts Impact Fund. Previously at Nesta, Rachael worked on the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts, a £7 million programme established by Arts Council England, Arts and Humanities Research Council and Nesta, aiming to explore the potential of technology to reach new audiences and develop new business models for the arts and culture.

Before joining Nesta, Rachael was a Project Manager at an arts consultancy, with over 7 years’ experience working in arts management.

Her background is in contemporary visual arts projects, organising exhibitions and national touring shows, and managing commissions, prizes and awards. Rachael has worked with a variety of clients including Southbank Centre, Jerwood Charitable Foundation, Natural History Museum and Forestry Commission England.

Rachael holds a BA Joint Hons in Art History and Fine Art from the University of Plymouth. In her spare time she enjoys analog photography and visiting museums and galleries.

It’s been just over a year since our Insights from the first year paper were published, which highlighted our activities and lessons since the Arts Impact Fund opened for applications in June 2015. With two years of enquiries, applications, investments and repayments now behind us, over a series of four blogs the team is looking at what this means for the Fund now, and for the arts and culture sector moving forwards.
