Chief Executive of Llamau, the lead charity in the End Youth Homelessness Cymru partnership

What I do

End Youth Homelessness Cymru is a 10-year campaign to end youth homelessness in Wales. Launched in 2017, the campaign brings together politicians, business leaders, statutory partners, local authorities and charity activists to tackle the root causes of youth homelessness. The campaign is supported by Hollywood actor Michael Sheen and Wales’ First Minister, Carwyn Jones, as well as the Future Generations commissioner, the Children’s Commissioner and the leader of the WLGA in Wales.

Frances joined Llamau in 2000 and has steered the organisation through extensive development to become Wales' leading homelessness charity for young people and vulnerable women.

By profession, Frances is a cognitive behavioural therapist and her masters was in women experiencing PTSD as a result of domestic abuse. She was the founder and first chair of Cymorth Cymru, Wales' umbrella body for organisations working with vulnerable people in Wales.

Frances is a member of the Supporting People National Advisory Board and chair of the Governance Workstream as well as a board member of the independent think-tank, The Institute of Welsh Affairs, and of Tai Pawb. She also serves on the Advisory Panel of the Children's Commissioner in Wales.
