Tony Thomas

Tony retired as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in June 2005, after a varied 35-year career spanning a range of accounting, auditing, advisory and training roles.

He spent a number of years specialising in computer audit and systems selection in the early days of computer auditing. He also trained staff in specialist techniques and wrote a range of computer interrogation programs, which provided new insights into data held in client financial systems.

Tony has worked with a wide range of business clients in the private sector, providing audit services and assisting in the purchase and sale of businesses. His public sector experience includes health and education.

Tony has also been involved in leading and providing internal audit services to the public sector. He spent a number of years undertaking forensic accounting work and has given evidence in the High Court on a number of occasions as an expert witness in financial compensation cases. In the last few years, Tony has worked in servicing a range of large pension schemes in the UK.

Tony is an independent board member of Magna Housing Group Limited, a social housing provider, and sits on the Group Finance and Audit Committees.
