Jane Ní Dhulchaointigh came to Nesta during the early stages of developing Sugru, a pliable waterproof and heat resistant substance which can be used to customise, repair or even reinvent everyday objects. She started working on the silicon rubber substance while studying product design at college.
Jane received support through the Creative Pioneers programme which offered access to knowledge, expertise, training, support and business funding to individuals who were in the early stages of their careers (up to 5 years out of graduation).
Sugru is now used by more than 60,000 people in 100+ countries around the world and the company has since opened its own factory in London.
