Starter for 6

Inspiring entrepreneurship in Scotland

Starter for 6 is an enterprise-development project, running in Scotland until 2009.

We aim to support up to 300 entrepreneurs over the three-year project, and work with our partners towards creating an environment where innovation can flourish.

Starter for 6

Training

Starter for 6 draws on key elements and learning from previous programmes that we've run in Scotland. It provides training and support to help creative individuals set up or further develop their fledgling businesses.

On completion of the training, participants have the opportunity to pitch for up to £10,000 of grant funding.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for outstanding applicants who have:

  • innovative business ideas, including products and services or innovative ways of bringing these to market;
  • ideas that come from any of the faculties of science, technology or the arts/creative industries.

Applications can be submitted by individuals or teams.

How to apply

Applications for our 2009 Starter for 6 programme will open in autumn 2008.
