Health and safety

Fashion might be a unique industry in many ways, but in terms of providing a safe working environment, all companies need to comply with Health and Safety (H&S) legislation.

Fashion manufacturing companies need to have a good understanding of the basic requirements of H&S management. We have found that many businesses have a misunderstanding of what is actually required
by law, for example it is incorrect for companies to assume that their landlords are fully responsible; to think that H&S legislation does not apply to them if they are new or only a small business; or not to know
that their responsibility extends to visitors to their premises.

This Toolkit is designed to provide some advice and support in understanding H&S and what it means to your business.
