‘The most powerful learning tool ever created’ is how Lord Puttnam described the video game. The use of this technology within the classroom has been gaining momentum in the UK over the last couple of years, this has been led by Scotland and the work of the then Consolarium who were at the forefront of this technology.

Here at Preloaded, our approach to game design is that it has to be FUN first. Whether about death and philosophy, neuroscience, slavery, historic battles, drug trafficking, mental health or financial literacy, we create educational games that people want to play, rather than games people have to play. This distinction is hugely significant.

As many parents and children gear-up for the October half term, it's hard to believe that the new school year is already well underway. 10 years ago, I was getting over the shock of my first few weeks as a new secondary school teacher with TeachFirst. I was terrified and the half-term break came as a much-needed break.
