Why are we doing this?
Digital technology is completely changing the way we live and work and the pace of technological change shows no signs of slowing. What can governments do to create a strong digital economy and ensure Europe is ‘future-proof’?
Amid the buzzwords and hype we do not discuss the existing policies that harness what digital technology can do for Europe enough. Which digital policies benefit entrepreneurs, business and society? How might we design better ones?
We believe that agile, innovative policymaking can unlock the full potential of digital technologies, maximising the benefits and minimising the risks. By learning from pioneering initiatives and sharing experiences of what has, and hasn’t, worked we can help Europe thrive as one of the most advanced, digitally prosperous regions of the world.
What are we doing?
We champion the use of digital tools by governments to design policies that are more timely, data-driven, user-focused and inclusive. We’re also helping policymakers make the most of Europe’s digital economy by doing the following:
1. Providing a platform for sharing cutting-edge policies and innovative initiatives that foster digital economic growth.
2. Convening high-level summits and roundtables that connect Europe’s decision-makers with businesses and entrepreneurs. Our events provide senior stakeholders with an opportunity to network with different countries as well as exploring new approaches to regulation and policymaking.
3. Publishing new research and data about policymaking for the 21st century. Our key areas of focus include e-government, digital skills, scaling start-ups and digitising traditional industries.
