Today the Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s Languages, Dr Alasdair Allan, came to visit Oxgangs Primary School to see the work we have been doing to support teachers with their digital skills as part of our Digital Education programme in Scotland.

As part of our work in Digital Education in Scotland, Young Scot have recruited young people from S3 and S4 of High School and placed them with a digital expert to help them gain some experience and further knowledge of what might be a future career.

Last Saturday (23 Nov) saw our first One Day Digital event for teachers take place in Edinburgh. We had 70 teachers give up their Saturday to come along and join us for some interesting digital making workshops which we had convened using industry and education partners. If you weren’t able to make it along, this is what we had on offer:

From the tech-savvy teacher to the multinational corporation, all sorts of individuals, organisations and communities are supporting digital making in the UK. An ecosystem is there, developing right before our eyes. Still, there is so much to learn about this nascent space. Where does digital making happen, who facilitates it, and how do these individual experiences come together into learner pathways and a wider ecosystem?
