Preparing for the Future essays

How do you prepare young people for a rapidly changing future? We posed this question to a diverse range of people – from senior managers in corporations to students in full-time education – and their responses were equally diverse. However, they agreed on one thing: the future workplace is going to look very different to the way it does today.

We have published some of these viewpoints in a new publication, called 'Preparing for the Future'. If you'd like a copy of this publication, please contact us at futureinnovators@nesta.org.uk

Preparing for the Future essays

Introduction

This year, hundreds of thousands of young people in the UK will leave full-time education. But how well-prepared will they be for the challenges of the future?

This is a question that is becoming ever more pertinent, as globalisation, demographic shifts and rapid developments in technology pose significant challenges, both to how we work and to the nature of work itself.

This collection of essays provides different viewpoints on this theme, offering a range of ideas and insights that are intended to prompt debate, rather than provide a definitive answer.
