Giedre Masanovets is Lithuanian-born applied artist who studied at the University for the Creative Arts Rochester. Giedre strives to create complex, yet natural looking lighting structures and installations from something very simple. She enjoys using common household items and industrial materials, and through manipulation and transformation, gives them a new identity and different purpose.
Inspiration for the WEAVE lighting series came from looking at the concept of nature and our consumer society and how over–consumption has contributed to current environmental issues, such as pollution and waste.
Giedre's sculptural piece can be found in our reception area.
