IdeasTap was launched by philanthropist and businessman Peter De Haan in response to the impact the financial crisis was likely to have upon young creative people beginning their careers and the future of our creative industries.

The organisation is a not-for-profit creative network helping young creative people by changing the way emerging talent is funded, nurtured and launched. Its approach is based on providing hundreds of large sums in direct cash funding to young creatives to help them get their ideas off the ground.

Alongside this financial support, IdeasTap coordinates a relevant industry mentor to support emerging artists. Each of these artists are profiled and showcased to the broader IdeasTap community consisting of over 58,000 young creatives.

Projects funded through IdeasTap include the world's first silent opera, pop up film festivals pioneered by young architects and productions at the Edinburgh festival. Peter De Haan has also invested over £4.6 million pounds in leading arts organisations that support young people as well as innovative projects including Under One Roof - a new model of collaborative working for charities sharing premises, human and physical resources, and creative ways of working.
