Care4care

Care4care will be a joint collaboration between Professor Heinz Wolff from Tools for Living, The Young Foundation and Age UK, Isle of Wight. Care4Care will be a membership organisation where members spend a few hours a week supporting an older person in their own local community, and in return build up their own "care pension" for their own future needs.

Care4Care is a new venture designed to tackle the national crisis in support and care facing the UK's ageing population. Members will build up their own "care pension" - supporting and caring for an older person in their local community. The time invested in these actions will be credited to a personal care and support account (like a bank account). Credits will be used stored for their own future needs. Alternatively credits can be spent immediately on support for a family member (who might live far away).

Care4Care is a partnership between the Young Foundation and the creator of the Care4Care concept Professor Heinz Wolff, Emeritus Professor of Bio-engineering at Brunel University. Care4Care will launch its first community on the Isle of Wight in partnership with Age UK, Isle of Wight in spring 2012.

The Award: Care4Care has been awarded £47,000 to support and develop the prototype model on the Isle of Wight.
