Rootless Garden is social enterprise that combats loneliness by providing engaging activities for older people in London.

They use activities inspired by nature to encourage mental and physical wellbeing through independence, communication and creativity.

Founders Indie Shergill and Nadia Daghistani came up with the idea after being selected for the Year Here Fellowship. Previously, Nadia worked with Age Concern Kingston, at The Bradbury, one of the UK's only Active Age Centres, while Indie worked with Care UK at a palliative and dementia specialised facility.

Through activities such as social clubs, intergenerational conversations and gardening, Rootless Garden transform environments within care, improve social lives and help people both physically and psychologically, as well as providing novel opportunities for learning.

Rootless Garden has now run 18 bespoke projects across London and is keen to encourage other new voluntary groups across the country.
