Nesta has bought a building in central London, 58 Victoria Embankment, which is currently being built for completion in late 2016.  We expect to move into the building in time to be working there from January 2017.

Rigorous independent assessments convinced our board that this was a prudent investment for Nesta, and we also observed that many other foundations in the UK and around the world have benefited in the long-term from buying and using buildings rather than renting. Indeed, for Nesta, as for many other organisations, the long-term costs of purchasing a building are comparable, or less, than the cost of continuing to rent central London offices.

The building will provide office space for Nesta and tenants who will take space on the floors that we do not occupy.

The building has been redeveloped behind its existing facade to very high environmental standards, and has excellent transport links close to Blackfriars station and on the new cycle superhighway.

We’ll be sharing more about the building and our plans in due course.
