Nesta Impact Investments has announced the fifth venture to join its portfolio. The social impact fund has invested £750,000 in FutureGov to scale existing products and services in the UK.

FutureGov has an excellent track record of designing user-led digital technology to improve public services.

Its first product, Patchwork, was designed to help improve communication between frontline practitioners working with vulnerable children. The application allows practitioners across various different agencies to share contact details, allowing everyone involved in a particular case to contact each other and share relevant information offline.

FutureGov also developed Casserole which helps people share extra portions of home-cooked food with other people in their local area unable to cook for themselves.

The support from Nesta Impact Investments will help FutureGov scale existing products both in the UK and internationally.
