Iris Lapinski is CEO of CDI Europe, the European Hub for the Centre for Digital Inclusion - a global network of community-based centres working on digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, and community action.

Iris creates new ways to engage young people to develop 21st century skills, and create a generation of problem solvers.

In the UK, CDI Europe runs Apps for Good, an award-winning programme where young people learn to create mobile and Facebook apps that can change their world.

After an initial pilot phase in two locations with 50 students in 2010, the mobile app course is now running in 40 partner schools across the UK, training 1,300 young people between 13-18 years.

During 2011 CDI Europe started a pilot programme to create a new Facebook app course, and in January 2012 Education Secretary Michael Gove praised the partnership between Facebook and Apps for Good as an example for what schools can do to prepare young people for the future.
