Project: Developing the Innovative capability of Scottish Firms

The project will investigate the management of innovation within selected Scottish companies based in Renfrewshire with a view to enhancing the innovative capabilities of those firms. The project intends to audit firms and help them to apply best practice in the management of innovation. Best practice will be generated from the literature review on models of innovation management. The project will use a mixture of qualitative and action research methods.

A series of workshops will be delivered to the companies throughout the project.  The effect of the project will be an enhancement in the innovative capability of local and regional firms. A number of conferences will be attended to disseminate the outcome of the research, culminating with the EUROMOT conference organised by the University of the West of Scotland. The project will also generate a number of journal articles and a final report on regional innovation policies for local and national bodies.
