BaseKit is a cloud platform that enables small businesses to easily build, host and manage high quality and dynamic websites. The company was founded by 2008 by web design entrepreneurs with the mission of changing the way that websites are built, by providing software-as-a-service that is easy to use and can quickly turn a website design into a fully functioning site online.
The company emerged through Seedcamp in 2008 and was seed funded by NESTA and Eden Ventures. In March 2011 the company closed a $6.5m funding round with NESTA investing £600k alongside Eden and a new investor Nauta Capital from Spain to assist in building the business and its route to international markets.
