Impact of growing innovative firms

Description

This project aims to improve understanding of the contribution of high-growth firms to the wider economy, with a particular focus on those benefits that firms fail to appropriate for themselves. It will analyse the different channels by which growing firms have an impact on the economy. For example:

  • growing to become a larger firm;
  • being acquired by larger firms, driving their growth;
  • increasing competitive pressures on incumbents; and
  • spillovers.
