Innovation in the UK

Happenstance

The Happenstance project set about trying to change the way arts organisations use technology. It funded six technology residencies at three of the UK’s most vibrant and exciting arts organisations: Site Gallery in Sheffield, Lighthouse in Brighton and Spike Island in Bristol. Its aims were to understand how one-off ‘glanceable’ technological innovations, together with the distinctive processes and cultures of digital technologists, could become embedded into organisational practices of arts organisations and lead to organisational change.
