We'd like to invite you to a conversation on the power of social action with Jeremy Heimans, the co-Founder and CEO of Purpose.
In 2007, Jeremy co-founded Avaaz, the world's largest online citizens' movement, now with more than 15 million members. In 2005, he co-founded GetUp, an Australian political organisation and internationally recognised social movement phenomenon that today has more members than all of Australia's political parties combined.
In 2011, Jeremy received the Ford Foundation's 75th Anniversary Visionary Award for his work as a movement pioneer and the World Economic Forum named him a Young Global Leader. His work has been recognised in publications like The Economist and the New York Times, and Fast Company named him one of the Most Creative People in Business. Jeremy began his career with the strategy consultants McKinsey and Company. He was educated at Harvard University and the University of Sydney. He lives in New York.
Jeremy will present his ideas on social action, giving examples of some of the campaigns and movements which are shaping social innovation and advising on the future. The event will be in the format of an interview style discussion between Jeremy and Geoff Mulgan, CEO at Nesta. There will be the opportunity for audience members to submit questions in advance of the event and via a Q&A session at the event itself.
If you cannot attend in person, a video of the event will be available online soon after.
