What will happen to the endowment?

When Nesta became a charity, the old Non-Departmental Public Body was abolished, and two new bodies were established:

• Nesta (the charity or Nesta the operating company), which carries out Nesta’s day to day activity including its research work and practical programmes.

• The Nesta Trust – a separate charitable trust. The endowment is now held in this trust, which is overseen by a 'Protector' appointed by Government.

Nesta is the trustee of the Nesta Trust and will continue to use the return from the endowment to meet the charitable objects of the Trust.
