Last year NESTA, working with the Big Lottery Fund, invited community organisations across England to apply to be part of The Neighbourhood Challenge, an exciting new programme that will galvanize local people to get involved in responding to local priorities. We received a fantastic response of around 600 applications and from this 16 organisations and neighbourhoods have been selected to take part in the Neighbourhood Challenge.

The selected organisations will receive funding and support to trial their own approaches to community organising and of supporting community-led innovation.
Speakers included Minister for Civil Society, Nick Hurd MP, who helped announce the finalists for this exciting new programme.
