Growing Local Economies: A Creative Councils learning exchange

Growing the economy and supporting people into work are the central challenges facing the UK.  Local authorities and their partners play a key role in shaping their local economies by supporting businesses, catalysing enterprise, developing employment schemes and creating the conditions for growth.  Up and down the country and internationally creative examples can be found of innovations to grow the local economy and lay the foundations for tomorrow's low carbon economy.

We would like to invite you to attend an event designed to inspire innovation among local authorities by giving you the opportunity to hear the latest thinking on how you can contribute to economic growth in your area. This event will showcase examples of inspirational innovations which are supporting local economic growth and development.

This will be the last in a series of events showcasing international and national case studies to support innovation in local government.  The event is part of Nesta's Creative Councils Programme, and is open to local authorities across the country to ensure the benefits of the programme are shared beyond the immediate programme participants.
