Giving Challenge Prizes Launch Event

We launched two social challenge prizes which aim to encourage new ways of mobilising communities to give time, skills and resources to make significant impacts in waste reduction and on ageing well.
 
Speakers at the launch event included Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society, Heinz Wolff, Emeritus Professor of Bio-engineering at Brunel University, Sue Riddlestone, Co-Founder Bioregional, Natalie Turner, AgeUK London and Geoff Mulgan, CEO, Nesta.

The event also featured short presentations from Gary Harvey, creative designer, and Ann Dickie, From Here to Maturity dance company.
The Centre for Challenge Prizes is a hub for expertise in designing and running challenge prizes to tackle social and technological challenges in the public interest. We aim to build understanding of how challenge prizes can play an effective and strategic role in the stimulation and support of innovation.
