If data is used well it can greatly enhance the ability of voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations (VCSEs) to pursue their fundamental goals - those of identifying and meeting need, reporting on activities undertaken, fundraising and innovating services. Some organisations are already using data to gain advantage in pursuing their core missions. But other organisations are not fully benefiting from the opportunities afforded by open data and effective data usage.
This event will launch the Civil Society Data Network and brings together leading data experts with VCSEs that want to improve their data skills. The event will play a dual role: as a discussion about the benefits of using data effectively and as a workshop for VCSEs to meet data technologists who can work with them to improve their data skills. This will be a high-demand event and space will likely be limited. Please provide us with some detail on the registration page about your organisation's interest in engaging with data - these details as a basis on which to select attendees
The event is hosted by Nesta and run in partnership with the Big Lottery Fund, Office for Civil Society, Cabinet Office, Open Knowledge Foundation, NCVO, Nominet Trust, Intellect UK and Open Data Institute.
