The Innovation Growth Lab brings together an international network of researchers and public and private organisations supporting innovation and growth.

Together, we aim to build the evidence base on the most effective approaches to accelerate innovation, high-growth entrepreneurship and business growth, using randomised controlled trials (RCTs) to find out what works and what doesn’t.

Speakers at this event included:

  • Fiona Murray, Associate Dean For Innovation, MIT Sloan School of Management
  • Geoff Mulgan, Chief Executive, Nesta
  • Hiroko Plant, Deputy Director Analytical Decision Support, UK Department of Business, Innovation & Skills
  • Alicia Robb, Senior Fellow, The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
  • Albert Bravo-Biosca, Senior Economist, Nesta

During the launch we discussed:

  • The RCTs that we are supporting.
  • The value and challenges of experimental approaches in innovation and growth policy.
  • How you could use experimental approaches in your own organisations to build more effective programmes.
  • A new funding opportunity for innovation, entrepreneurship and growth RCTs.

IGL is an initiative led by Nesta in partnership with: The Kauffman Foundation, the Australian Department of Industry, the Danish Business Authority, Innovate UK (Technology Strategy Board), the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands, the Swedish Agency for Growth Analysis, and the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
