Considered one of the world’s most influential thinkers on innovation, Bill Janeway has been a venture capitalist and investor in many of Silicon Valley’s most successful companies, and more recently instrumental in INET, the Institute for New Economic Thinking.

Bill Janeway, co-founder of the Institute for New Economic Thinking, spent an evening at Nesta discussing the innovation economy.

His recent book Doing Capitalism in the Innovation Economy: Markets, Speculation and the State (Cambridge University Press, 2012), has shaped thinking on the roles of the state and financial speculation in driving economic change.

The discussion was hosted by Nesta chief executive, Geoff Mulgan.
