Ralf Fücks has written widely on environmental policy and political economy, and is currently President of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, an influential public policy organization advancing green visions and projects. Fücks has played a leading role in the German Green Party, having served as Co-President for the national party, and on its policy making Program Commission. His current work with the Heinrich Böll Foundation spans the areas of sustainable development, reshaping the welfare state, migration, foreign policy and the future of European integration.
In his new book Fücks delivers arguments for a paradigm shift to ‘smart growth' using efficient technology, smart energy policy and proactive innovation. In a landmark year for international sustainable development that includes the 2015 United Nations crunch Paris climate conference to create a global agenda, Green Growth, Smart Growth’s themes are especially relevant to our changing world.
