At this event, Geoff Mulgan provided an overview of Nesta's collaboration with the ESRC and the development of the Alliance for Useful Evidence.

This was followed by comments and reflections from Sir Michael Rutter on the UK evidence agenda, and from Ron Haskins on what the UK can learn from the Obama Administration's evidence based reforms.

The event also launched our book compilation providing perspectives on how research and evidence can influence decision makers, with essays from Ron Haskins and Jon Baron on the Obama Administration's evidence reforms, The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) on how research can influence policy, Center for Court Innovation's take on combining research and practice, and the development of Greater London Authority's Project Oracle.
