David Hunter
David Hunter joined NESTA in 2006. He oversees all aspects of NESTA's investment activity. He is responsible for generating a satisfactory flow of investment proposals, rigorously evaluating these proposals, completing investments, working with portfolio companies and funding partnerships to leverage the wider expertise of NESTA's network of business support mentors.
Before joining NESTA, David was an adviser for Partnerships UK, where he oversaw their equity investment business relating to commercialisation of public assets and IP.
Previously, David was Managing Director of the Investment Management Group at 3i Group Plc, where he held a number of investment roles over 20 years. In his role as Managing Director, David was accountable for driving the performance of 3i's £3bn UK portfolio across a wide range of sectors.
He is a member of the Bridges Ventures Investment Committee and is Finance Committee Chairman for the University College for the Creative Arts.
David has a keen interest in the performing arts and sailing.
