He started his career in newspapers before working as a reporter and producer for BBC Radio and Television. He founded the television production and digital agency Twofour in 1988. The company has since been voted the UK’s Best Independent Production Company at the Broadcast Awards twice.
Charles chaired the UK independent trade body Pact (Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television) for two years and is now a board member of Creative England. He is a voting member of BAFTA and was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Business from Plymouth University.
Zebra Crossing was founded by Nic Franklin and Luke Hammersley in 2005, a production and post-production company predominantly producing advertising and marketing content. Stripey Horse is an independent production company with offices in London, Cape Town and Sydney - it is a division of the Zebra Worldwide group alongside Zebra Post.
