Going on tour with Co-production

Francesca Cignola - 23.03.2011

We're spreading the message of co-production across the UK with our roadshow events.

Over March and April NESTA is hosting 5 Co-production Roadshows across the country - in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester and London. The aim is to showcase examples of co-produced services and provide a space for practitioners and decision makers to talk about how to deliver better, cheaper public services that involve people in improving their lives and their communities.

In true co-production style we are delivering these events in partnership with organisations that share our commitment to co-production and are based in the 5 Roadshow cities. In the spirit of co-production everybody pitches into the effort - venues, speakers, local coordination... And if that is at times a headache to manage and hold together, it is exciting to be out there spreading the message of co-production and seeing that a real movement is building around it.

The first two roadshows in Cardiff and Edinburgh were worth the effort. A good turnout (with people from the waiting list queueing at the door of the Scottish Parliament!), engaging discussions and a sense that people want to hear more, share stories and learning and talk about how we can change the system.

Coming up are the Birmingham, Manchester and London Roadshows, with a great lineup of speakers and practical workshops.
