Grandparents who care for their grandchildren are more likely to experience poverty and poor health and wellbeing.
This project has been developed to support lower income grandparents who already provide informal childcare, through a reward scheme providing them with retailer discounts and financial incentives to strengthen their ability to support their grandchildren.
The scheme, a combination of website-based rewards and a social club, has been developed by Grandparents Plus and a group of grandparents who helped to design and test the service.
By providing a small boost to disposable income and recognising the important caring contribution of grandparents, the service aims to increase users' self-worth, wellbeing and wealth.
