Give More Get More: Meet the grantees
As we get older, volunteering is increasingly seen as an enabler of a happy and healthy life. Not only can it have massive social impact, but volunteers themselves often report significant benefits; a greater sense of purpose and self-esteem, and an impact on health.
In order to explore what it would take to motivate, recruit and support volunteers aged over 50, Nesta and the Office for Civil Society launched the Give More Get More programme.
The fund will support organisations to develop and test intensive volunteering programmes for people approaching or during retirement that create impact alongside public services,
In March, we announced which five organisations would receive grants of up to £100,000. Here, the five organisations taking part in the programme share their plans to organise hundreds of older volunteers within their communities to tackle specific social challenges.
